Using the six major characteristics of a pure makrket economy, which of these characteristics do we as American's see in our society today? Explain.

  1. I think the characteristic we see the most is competition, because there are alot of different businesses selling the same products. People have to make products with the cheapest prices. Competition is what drives our economy, because, to make money, you will have to make your product well known and have a low price, so people will buy it.

  2. The six characteristics are: little or no government control, freedom of enterprise, freedom of choice, private property, profit incentive, and competition. I think that Americans see all of these except sometimes there are too many government regulations. I think that we get to choose and do all of the other things as Americans.

  3. I sort of agree with Briana. American's don't always see these characteristics because of government control. Too much can be a bad thing.

  4. The six characteristcs of the American economy are the role of the government, freedom of enterprise, freedom of choice, private property, profit incentive, and competition. I think we see competition the most. We see advertisements and stuff every day with companies telling us how their product is better than others and why we should buy theirs.

  5. I think the characteristics the most seen in the society today is competition, because of many buisnesses selling the same item like shorts to consumers and trying to get theirs sold to them instead of the competing company.

  6. We as a nation use all 6 characteristics. Once in a while the government steps in and increases their control over certaing things, but they normally have very little power.

  7. The six major characteristics are freedom of enterprise, private property, competition, little or no government control, freedom of choice, and profit incentive. I believe that in the U.S. we see all of these to some extent. The only one that I might not agree with is the little or no government control. The government has gotten more involved in the economy recently.

  8. The six characteristics are little or no government control, freedom of choice, private property, profit incentive and competition. I think the most common on that we see today is probably competition, because of buying and selling products which puts a drive in our economy. And the prices will be low so more people will spend money to buy a product. I also think that right now there are too many government regulations also.

  9. I agree with Mitchell about the competition. Companies competing for our purchases is what keeps our economy going. Nice job Mitch! :)

  10. I think the characteristic we use the most is competition because this is why people sell things is because they compete. If they got the lowest price more people will go there to save money.

  11. I like Mitchells and Briana's comments about which we do see the most i agree with both of them.

  12. i agree with mitchell because the companys are competing to sell items to consumers.

  13. The characteristics are freedom of enterprise, freedom of choice, little or no government control, private property, profit incentive, and competition. All of these are prominant in America today. The characteristic i believe we see the most however is freedom of choice and competition. We get to chose what we want creating competition.

  14. I agree with Dillion. He is a smart, smart man. Competition is the key.

  15. I think we see a bit of all of them here in America. We have freedom of choice, private property, and competition but the government has some form of control on these. Freedom of choice is probably the big one because we get to decide what career we will have, what we will buy, what services to use, etc.

  16. I don't agree with the people who are saying competition is the most widely seen. I believe freedom of choice is the most widely seen because we get to make our own choices and everything that we do is involved in a choice. We choose how, when, and where we do something.

  17. I agree with codey, competition is a huge charactreristic today in america. Good thinking codey.

  19. The 6 major characteristics of a pure market economy are little or no government control, freedom of enterprise, freedom of choice, private property, profit incentive, and competition. I think that as Americans we see all these characteristics, sometimes some more than others. There is always alot of competition in an economy, and also alot of government restrictions.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I agree with Briana because we do have these characteristics, but only to a point. The government does regulate alot!

  21. I agree with Mitchell and Briana. Competition is one of the most important things to have in our economy. We need it to allow prices to be more fair. The reason I agree with Briana is that the government has a lot of regulations. It might do more than some people would like, but I think that it works.

  22. The six major characteristics are little or no government, freedom of enterprise, freedom of choice, private property, profit incentive, and competition. I think that the one that we see the most is competition. Competition is what drives a pure market economic system. It pushes people to make better products for less. I think that the characteristic that we see the least is little or no government control. We are getting more government control every day in our economty.

  23. thanks codey. you are quite the student!

  24. The six major characteristics are little or no government control, freedom of enterprise, freedom of choice, private property, profit incentive, and competition. We have all these characteristics except government control. We still have some government control though.

  25. The six charactoristics are: Role of government, freedom of enterprise, freedom of choice, private property, profit incentive, and competition. I think we see profit incentive as the most widely driven charactoristic. Becuase you don't start a business to compete, you start a business to make money.

  26. There are six basic principles of an American economy. These are: little or no government; freedom of enterprise; freedom of choice; private property; profit incentive; competition.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Out of all of the characteristics that can be seen today i would have to say that competition is the one we see most of. Atleast in the U.S. it seems to be what drives the economy foward since everything has pretty much been done the only way we can sell our product if we are competive and try to make it better than the competitor

    ReplyDelete
  28. I agree with DK saying we mostly see competition.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I also agree that the government does place alot of restrictions on things so there isnt always little or no government control on certain things.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I agree with Michele because freedom of choice is a very important characteristic in America. People have the right to pick what they are going to do with their life. Many economic systems don't give that opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  31. A pure market economic system has 6 major characteristics: little or no government control, freedom of enterprise, freedom of choice, private property, profit incentive, & competition. In America today, the last three are more prominant than the first three because the federal government has either ended or reduced them. The abiility to own private propery is established by the constitution. Profit incentive and competition are inevitable in the system of free market capitalism/mixed economy.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I would probably have to agree with casey. We are starting to see alot of bail outs and government control now. Whether or not it's right or wrong, i guess.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I agree that competition and freedom of choice are huge. We can choose what we want to buy, spend money on, what job we want- those are all examples. I also think competition is huge because without it, people could be taken advantage of because one company could have really high prices.

    ReplyDelete
  34. bertsch.... you are so smart. you sould write a book.

    ReplyDelete
  35. i think that we see all of them in America, we get to choose basically what we want and don't want everyday. sometimes scarcity makes what we want become what we need because of money or whatever, but we have all 6 in the country today.

    ReplyDelete
  36. everyone's answers look good, good job guys!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I agree with codey. smart guy.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Very true bertsch. agreed.

  39. I agree with what everyone is saying. Great job on finding the six characteristics.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The six characteristics are little or no government control, freedom of enterprise, freedom of choice, private property, profit incentive, and competition. We see alot of profit incentive and competition. Alot of profit incentive becasue everyone wants to earn money to acheive their goals.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I agree with punt. You see alot of competition everywhere you are.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Good thing everyone is really good at finding the six characteristics. If only the US had a true form of capatlism.
